Ash Wednesday -March 5

Ash Wednesday is a day of repentance, when Christians across the world receive ash on their foreheads in the shape of a cross as a sign of our deep need for God’s love. The ashes are made from past years’ palms from Palm Sunday. We will have three different opportunities for you to receive your ashes this year!

7:30-8:10am | Ashes by the Chapel

The pastors will be standing in the turnoff by the Chapel on Coral Way (just past the church playground), offering ashes to those driving by. Pull your car in, roll down your window, and receive ashes and a blessing for your day!

8:15-9:20am | Ashes at The Growing Place School

On Ash Wednesday, the pastors offer ashes during the school drop-off time to the families, children, and staff of The Growing Place School! You are welcome to park your car in the south lot and walk up to the TGPS entrance to receive your ashes, too.

7:00pm | Ash Wednesday Worship in the Sanctuary

Join us as we begin the season of Lent with a contemplative service of repentance. Lent is a season of forty days (not counting Sundays) ending with the celebration of Easter. It is a time to open the doors of our hearts a little wider and to understand our Lord a little deeper, so that when Easter comes, it is not just another day at church, but an opportunity to receive the overflowing of grace God offers each of us!
